Eggo – Wii Go Gokart!

Ok.. Who wants to race?

Ok.. Who wants to race?

Vroom! Original Eggo got himself some wheels and he’s ready to go! These are two 15 second spots we did for a Kellogs Eggo / Wii Mariokart promotion. Aren’t you glad all your food doesn’t taunt you this way?

Eggo – Knock-knock + tag

Hey! No peeking!

Hey! No peeking!

Just finished two more commercials from the eggo campaign, these are for eggo doubles. One is a standard 30 second ad and the other is a short 15 second spot. Kinda brilliant to include the product as the characters in the ad huh? Tragically we had to remove the fresh strawberries from the ‘complete breakfast shot’, as they would have pushed the calorie count over the legal limit.

Cheerleaders – Eggo mini rolls

Who doesn\'t like cinnamon and sugar?

Who doesn't like cinnamon and sugar?

This is another animated waffle ad for the Kellogg Eggo campaign, but this one has a catchy cheer. I did some heavy photoshop retouching on the cinnamon bun that introduces this spot. We got about a hundred freshly baked cinnamon and shot tonnes of still photos from a bunch of different angles so we could pick just the right one, but you wouldn’t believe how bad a close-up photo of an actual cinnamon bun can look.

The studio smelled incredibly good that day.

For the cinnamon mini-rolls we had to come up with a graphic animated representation of brown sugar and cinnamon sparkles – I really like the way these turned out.

The Chase – Eggo

Hey! Come Back! I'm not going to eat you, I just want to play!

Hey! Come Back! I'm not going to eat you, I just want to play!

This was the first tv commercial I directed for the Kelloggs Eggo waffle advertising campaign: a blueberry flavor Eggo waffle chases a herd of blueberries across the screen -he just wants to play! I’ve done a few ads for this campaign now and we do each one the same way: first we take photographs of a toasted waffle from several angles, and then we attach arms and legs and make ‘em move.

Leo Burnett is the agency that writes these ads for Kelloggs. I love the amount of character that shines through in these spots even though the characters don’t have any facial features. Everything has to be communicated through body language which is an interesting challenge for an animator.
